That has to be the mindset of Google Search.

That would be the only explanation of why there are such severe penalties for SEO's whenever they do something wrong. You see, in Google's perfect eyes, an SEO is someone who merely makes sure that you have relevant TITLE tags, and link/nav structure. That's it. If Google had it there way, a tool like SEO Automatic would be the only tool that anyone would ever need.

So, here we come, the SEO's, and we're trying to perform work for a company that wants better visibility. That practice, by the definition of Google Webmaster guidelines, is doomed to be in violation. Why? Because that's what SEO's do. We advise on content, create an inbound link campaign, and this, in turn, elevates the clients position within the Google search query. Sound right? Well, you're a violator. You've just tried to manipulate SERPS .

Why? Because you intentionally tried to change (read: manipulate) the natural Google Algo into producing results more favorable to your client. WE call it optimizing. Google calls it a 'violation'.

So, before I go totally off on Google Search for their life-changing bullshit decision (yes, it changed my life...went from making $5000 a month in site revenue to < $1000/mo), first a quick background.

The wife and I were planning our retirement to a place with sand and sun..checking out stats each day but Google Search changed all that. Once the penalties started coming, there went the advertisers and the existing ones who stayed got huge discounts.

Google Search ruined my fucking life. For what? So a couple of developers with a lot of authority over there can claim their results are NATURAL? Bullshit. It's another 'click club' where certain A-list bloggers, PR Agencies get to optimize (sorry, manipulate) at will and the self-proclaimed manipulators (sorry, optimizers), get all the penalties and loss of income.

Well, Google Search, your penalties are very real and have very real consequences for families of John Q. Public. Lost income, lost cars, lost savings. All because a couple of arrogant developers over at Google don't want people optimizing/manipulating their beautiful algorithm.

Google's arrogant response: Well then don't use Google then.

Really Google? You're on the fast path to a big FUCKING BREAKUP (ATT) with your Internet Search monopoly but now, you have so much fucking cash, that you can afford to out-legal or out-spend anyone who comes in your way. This includes entire Governments, ANY private firm, or even an entire country. No. Google has it all. Cash and Search. No one's topping them off except Federal regulation on an Internet monopoly where actual JAIL of SERGEY and LARRY would be in the wings if they didn't comply. Nope, not even Google execs can escape jail for non-compliance.

Lose Google ranking and you'll sing the chorus with me. You watch, and I see everyday, your whole livelihood go from GREAT to ZILCH in ONE DAY. One day. Had a guy last year that lost his 30 employee business overnight when Google delisted his site for his 'promotional items' business. He had to shut down his doors. Swear to God.

And, like so many other oppressors, they'll tell you it's YOUR FAULT. That you 'duplicated this' or 'got a bad link from that' or 'failed to NOFOLLOW' a certain link or the link you had wasn't relevant to the site's content. One false move and you're toast.

Don't be evil. What a fucking joke. Your search PageRank penalties ruin lives. I don't know how much more evil you can be here. You've ruined my life. That's pretty evil.

I'm going to go play around with Google Voice some more. It's pretty cool.
